Getting Ready For A "visitor"

Kobo and Amazon.ca both have "Visitor" listed for pre-order; release date listed as April 5, 2015 for both ebook and hardcover editions. Now I'm off to scare my boss by emailing her the hardcover info for our company's winter catalogue that she hasn't even begun to think about planning yet. And, of course, get my personal order placed long before the book is in our system. :atwink

Nand' CJC-aiji said, on her blog in the last couple of weeks, that there is an unusually short turnaround time on the book she's working on and the next one, in order to keep their print publishing date slots.

Fantastic to know that Visitor is now up for pre-order! Amazon says the ebook version is due April 5th, 2016. Thanks, jls-3-ji! They show hardcover available as well.

I'd pre-ordered the upcoming Complete Morgaine Cycle in ebook format, due out this September 1st, 2015, so nand' CJC's birthday. ;)

I've got Visitor in my shopping cart now, but I won't make the pre-order purchase until we're back from holiday and recovered from the fun, and until I've got a little more back in the savings account.

Only 9 months to go, I guess. :P

I also have that ebook on pre-order. Just in case my rather elderly and worn hardcover editions finally fall apart. ;p

I actually found it in the Kobo site first, so knew it should also be up in Amazon as well. And I just check on these things far in advance because knowing five minutes after it's official and thus making my boss twitch is fun. :atwink

Amazon doesn't charge you until a book SHIPS - and if the price drops after you pre-order and before the book ships, they'll only charge you the new price.
So it is safe to go ahead and pre-order something - it won't show up on your credit card until release date.

The Morgaine set appears on the Kindle on the release date, but I've been a lazy butt and decided to color instead of read. Another time sink....but I'm enjoying it.

Working on my company's winter book catalogue this afternoon and just reached the "C" authors; here's the publisher blurb we've been given for "Visitor":

"It's been a year of upheaval, since Bren Cameron's return from space - a year since he and the aiji-dowager, one of his most powerful atevi allies, returned home from their two-year interstellar mission to find the government overthrown and their world in chaos. Now, at last, things on the atevi world seem to be on the right track, and Bren hopes that life may soon become much more tranquil. But something is coming, quietly, stealthily - just the first ominous twinkle of a new star in the heavens."

In other words, the blurb is almost word for word like that of Tracker's. :/

Yep! The "Foreigner" early blurbs have always been more of a vague recap than anything detailed about the upcoming plot.
