Thank you for the link. I've got mine on pre-order, too.

Neco, I did attempt to record it (and Jane's reading as well) but haven't found the time to get it off my phone and check it yet. I'll try to work on that this weekend.

It fits better than Perambulator? :atwink

Pre-ordered the ebook. I'll wait to order the hardbound.

BTW, when there is a long wait period between pre-order and release, one may expect B&N, Amazon, etc. to send a notice asking if one really still wants the pre-order. One must confirm this, or the order may be cancelled.

Because of this, and because of an earlier incident wherein one's pre-orders for both ebook and printed book were cancelled without notifying me and without my request, one checks every month or so to be sure one's pre-orders are still on record.

Hey, wait -- Perambulator, that would fit for the new baby....

Also, it would sound better than Diaper Changer, both of which end in the requisite -er/-or, though one is not an agentive suffix.

Heheh.

Ohh I've had to call Amazon.ca Support in Canada to get my books delivered. Cherryh and David Weber titles. They kept sending me emails encouraging me to cancel my order and shop elsewhere for these titles. They said it could be weeks or months late due to limited stock availability. TOTAL BS that AMAZON the largest bookstore on earth is at the back of the line.

Call them up and tell them you will shop elsewhere if they don't deliver on time on release date (or 3 days later for free shipping).

As for Tracker...
So far NO DISCOUNT IN CANADA on the hardcover, but the Canada kindle version is $1.19 cheaper than the USA kindle version. May just order on Amazon.com and have it forwarded.

HEH, could have it shipped from USA with Amazon Global shipping for less than the Canadian cover price.

I see I need to add the upcoming book and two shorts to my listing of the Foreigner titles.

(Updates made for those and for newly available formats (Hardbound, Paperback, Ebook, Audiobook) for any titles.)

NOTE: #04 (2.1) Precursor is now available in Ebook formats in the USA and CAN markets. However, #05 (2.2) Defender and #06 (2.3) Explorer are still not yet released in Ebooks.

NOTE: All Foreigner series titles (#01 – #15) are now available in Audiobooks from Audible.com.

Way back in Protector, Jase told Bren that the human children had locators on them. Considering that this book is named Tracker, implying that something will be tracked down, how much you want to be that they are going to lose the kids?

I was going for a humorous quip about, how does one lose something rather large and vocal. But then my more serious (too serious?) side kicked in.

There are many reasons a kid (the human kids or Cajeiri or his new sister?) might be "lost."

Some of those involve the kid(s) in question intentionally running away and not wanting to be found...whether that's smart or not, or perhaps justified for their own independent well being.

Hmm, OK, that's much better, a different wrinkle than what I had started to say.

One does note a marked tendency for CJC-aiji's characters to be headstrong, obstinate, and go off on their own principles, often as not.

It might be something the young gentleman or his young human associates might do.

(It was something I wanted to do at one point in college, too. Though by then, I wasn't a kid anymore, and it was, though not the smartest thing I'd ever wanted to do, still something that, at the time, and maybe even now, seemed like it needed doing. Only I was a good son and stayed. ... I wonder occasionally if I should've left like I wanted to do, funds notwithstanding, to get across my point to my parents, who were not listening to my side.)

So, there could be all sorts of reasons to why there's a Tracker involved.

Hmm....

Herself probably has something altogether different in mind for them.
