One notes one has been offered the distinction of serving in Bujavid Security. With no disrespect at all intended for that fine association, one respectfully suggests that a position (however junior) in the Paidhi's office might be more appropriate in temperment. :atwink

Excellent. Do you wish to be paidhi-in-training, in control of his schedule, or serve a double use by keeping his aishid, particularly Jago, informed? One is certain others will be able to recommend other possible positions.

After 40+ years as a secretary, I feel eminently qualified to handle the stables. Not the animals -- just the stables.

Nekokami-ji. Just tell me what you want for your title and I'll put it on your tombstone, ok?

Not to fret, that's just one of the preset titles awarded by post count (really the only way such has significance here). As nand' Spence says, any title you want is yours for the asking, but one has to be a little more specific; a nod's as good as a wink to a blind man, eh?

Hm. Paidhi-in-Training sounds good. "In training" doesn't seem too presumptuous. :atwink

I'm not sure the gods themselves, felicitous or infelicitous, could keep track of the paidhi's schedule, and it doesn't seem to me that Jago-nadi has any trouble keeping herself informed, but of course I would pass along anything I happened to come across that I thought she might want to know.

(I had meant to suggest "Clerk in the Paidhi's Office" or even just "Paidhi's Office," in keeping with the brevity of "Bujavid Security." I hadn't been aiming quite so high as "paidhi in training." But since that is pretty much how I view my life, it fits. :atwink )

As The Mule is the Paidhi-Aiji, I have passed your request on to his office. We'll get back to you.

One is embarrassed to admit one had thought "Bu-Javid Security," in the forum's contact, meant a moderator or admin of some stripe. One is rather encouraged that it's post count.

However, much like Nekokami, one feels much below the level of a paidhi in training, albeit one's nature fits translator, though likely not diplomat. One finds Bren quite identifiable with much of oneself.

Hey, if someone nice winked at me, I hope I'd see it. Wouldn't want to miss that nice a chance. My luck, I'd somehow think they had something in their eye, and miss the interest. -- One has an emotional blind spot about some things, hoy spot about others, much as does the paidhi.

Congratulations to Nekokami on her accomplishments!

Nope, around here admins and mods are all Assassins, and the only ones permitted to be named such. Okay, Sabina doesn't follow that convention, but she's still a Guild member.

I have to admit I'd made that mistake as well, until the designation showed up under my avatar. I knew at that point that it was a post-count indicator. And then I remembered seeing posts about people requesting changes to their titles, so I thought I'd ask for something more in keeping with my pacifist leanings. :)

From the desk of the Paidhi-Aiji to the candidate Nekokami, Greetings,

Following guild discussion it has been agreed to accept your candidacy for the Paidhi training course (sponsored by the University of Mospheira). One hopes you will prosper through the many years of study, though one cannot, by any means, guarantee that you may one day succeed to the position. :baji

One is grateful for the consideration of the Paidhi's office, for the honor of admission to the training program, and (felicitous three) for the well wishes of the Paidhi for future sucess. In turn, one wishes the Paidhi success in all efforts.

Okay, Sabina doesn't follow that convention, but she's still a Guild member.

I changed it some time ago, so I do follow the convention. But I couldn't part with my old title and the quintuple S synergy, so the title is very long and the assassin very hidden.

I have a new monitor, nekokami's avatar looks even greater with it.

Well, Assassins should be well hidden! :atwink :otw
