...way cool! Too bad it's locked away by a private collector, a thing like that needs public display...

The article says it was until this sale on display at the Brooklyn Museum. Too bad! i have been there a few times but never noticed it. It could have been one of our attractions when Sk8ter comes to town.

It really is quite beautiful. I'd love to be able to be one of those private collectors. But, even if I had the monetary resources, I think I'd probably be donating them or at least "loaning" them to public museums.

one is glad to hear that the proceeds are going to a charitable trust. one is sure they can be very charitable, with 57.2 million dollars! she's worth every penny.

since the successful bidder was an Englishman, one thinks that Mule might have a chance to see her on display in a London museum, maybe? possibly. unless, of course, Mule was the successful bidder. :atwink

but Nand'Mule, we all know how outrageously overpaid are teachers and professors and others like yourself :atwink

(I would think that whoever bought it is not so rich now, not counting the statue itself... but maybe they have another 50+ million in reserve, waiting on a Khym or Tully figurine...)
