one hopes that DAW will publish Conspirator quickly !

...and Cyteen 2 will be a Warner book one assumes, so they can be published at the same time.

Word count as started on book #11!!!

Be still my trembling heart! This year may prove an "embarassment of riches" with both Cyteen II and Conspirator (probably/possibly) coming out. This just makes my day!

This had my butt aching from unusual exercise. Knees are holding fine. I have a charley horse on the butt. Both sides.

I told Carolyn that what she needed was a massage. Where it hurt. But not from me -- I'm not paid enough to do that!

Yes, Sk8er-ji - WHEN is indeed the most important question!

Ooh, good news and better news in the same day! One dares not look too closely right now for fear of becoming distracted from exam prep by this all too enthralling news...

No date for Cyteen II's publication has been announced, at least that I'm aware of. Herself hasn't even gotten the galleys yet.

I'm certain that I posted some months ago that Regeneration's publisher would be DAW, rather than Warner. Things get buried easily though, so who knows where -- except maybe in this thread?

I just buzzed over to my wholesaler's site, and Cyteen II isn't listed yet.

Unfortunately, Penquin USA (DAW is an imprint of Penguin) is absolutely crappy when it comes to listing upcoming books on its website. Equally unfortunately, my memory sucks green swamp water these days, and I can't remember whether Cyteen II was included in the Fall 2008.

Five minutes later: I just put Penguin's customer service department through the wringer. The only future C.J. Cherryh publication they are showing at the moment is a collection of short stories coming out on October 7, 2008.

Several months ago, my Penguin rep told me that Goddess :cherryh: is such a dependable writer that they will put her books in the list even if it's only half done at the time the list is being decided.

I've seen this happen over & over. The publisher also tells her the absolutely-must-be-edited-and-done-and ready-for-the-presses date, which I understand is somewhat unusual, because not everyone would adhere to this absolute date. If just 1 author misses a hard deadline, it demolishes the entire publishing queue for months. :cherryh: is told because they can absolutely depend on her to come through.

Please excuse this one's ignorance of the publishing industry, but what are galleys?

(This one hopes to be intimately familiar with all these terms in the future)

they are large sheets of your book; they print them off and you go page by page and letter by letter to see if that is what you envisioned for your chef d'oeuvre.
