Nadiin, I've re-posted the house photos (previous posts). I now have PhotoShop, so obscured the house number. :ph43r:

Don the Plumber returned a few weeks ago with some other people in order to show off his Rube Goldberg-ish reef aquarium plumbing job. It turns out Don the Plumber is also an illusionist: during the social call he entertained everyone with magic tricks.

Ogre's beautiful teapot :t has a place of honor on the living room mantel; the silver filigree message cylinder is artfully placed on the coffee table. Where are the Hugos, you ask? Relegated to a china cabinet in the basement!

Sk8er-ji,
Thanks for the note ... I'm very glad that the housewarming gifts went over well. Sometimes it is difficult to get that targeted gift thangy right!!

For those who are wondering why Herself's :cherryh: Progress Report hasn't been updated recently: She, Jane, Ysabel :Acat: & Efanor :Acat: have been in Texas, visiting Carolyn's family. They returned safely tonight. I've been fish-sitting and am pleased to report that nothing died. :baji

Last summer I fish-sat for the very first time. What Carolyn did not tell me was that the aquarium was particuliarly fragile from a major chemistry crash the previous day. Everything went well & I didn't have to add any chemicals, only filtered water, as well as run the tests to make sure all was OK. :fish :baji :fish

After returning, Carolyn posted on her reef aquarium board about leaving her tank in the care of a novice sitter who didn't know anything about tanks but was meticulous about following instructions; that things had gone well even though the aquarium was not fully re-stabilized. In response, fellow reef board members congratulated Carolyn; shared horror stories about their own fish-sitters, and advised her to "hire (me) out and make a ton of money".

The new house's tank is fussier in some respects, & I had to fiddle with chemistries & the protein skimmer almost daily this time. Carolyn says she owes me a big rib dinner at Tony Roma's for all the trials & tribulations.

My tank is fresh water. I have many many fewer problems with it. But, my fish are not as pretty as with a salt water tank.

Here you go, Kyran-ji:

The Glorious Tank, July 2007

The Glorious Tank is MUCH more impressive now. The Hammerhead coral is massive & will need to be fragged in the near future before it takes over the entire tank. The yellow Watchman is significantly bigger compared to when Herself got him: he is now a virtual "horse", Herself has proclaimed. The Mandarin is about the same size. Herself says probably neither one will get much larger.
